Finally obtained the black beasty!.22 goodnes should be a trusty side arm on many future excursions...looking to get the steel breech kit soon and a black metal barrel band and tip to make it a silohette gun.
Would take this gun to mars and beyond...totally alien adventure worthy.

Great looking and a reliable air pistol. Accurate to 10 meters although I did bowl a rabbit at 18meter with a support!
Powerful enough for small pests but needs a silencer for use around the yard. Highly recommended. It is a "fun gun"

This gun is so enjoyable to shoot because it always works and always hits what you point it at. It has the same size and feel of a Ruger Mark 2. I have some other Co2 pistols which are semi auto, including a blowback, that are notoriously inaccurate and tend to be 'jam-o-matics'. The 2240 is a simple reliable bolt action that always works and never misses the target as long as you do your part. I like the fact that the gun will stop firing when CO2 pressure gets too low to fire safely which prevents a pellet from jamming in the barrel. Another good thing about this gun is that it is a .22. The .22 caliber pellets are easier to handle and hit harder than .177 pellets. The 2240 is very customizable with lots of aftermarket parts available.

I have had this pistol for over 2 years now and it is my favorite pellet pistol. I have 8 other pistols, from Daisy 200, Crossman 454, Crossman130 etc. This one is the best . It has a lot of upgrade options. My only complaint is the receiver is plastic and doesn't really have a viable method of mounting a better sight. I finally got around to ordering the steel breech which will allow me to mount a number of different sights. Out of the box it is a great gun. Oh yeah, never leave a partially expended cartridge in it for a long period of time. I made that mistake once. The cartridge will stick and the gun will have to be partially disassembled to remove it. Crossman warms the owner about this in the instructions.

This pistol is the bomb! I bought this gun and ordered the steel breech and waited to shoot it til I got the breech! This gun packs a punch and is dead on accurate!
I have gotten 40 dead on shot out of one CO2 canister! The only problem I have is buying enough CO2 and ammo for it!

Crosman told me they would honor their warranty re: many shots to pierce, even though I had worked on the trigger.
I'd originally bought the thing from Amazon, who replaced it next day red label.
Major kudo's to both Crosman and Amazon.

The replacement works as advertised out of the blister pack, which is still the worst feature.

The most outstanding SINGLE shot pistol I've owned (I once had a 8 shot co2 .22 cal "44 Magnum" in the late 70s-80s that shot at 500 FPS). I would like to get either aluminum or steel Breech for it but I can't find any although I tried many websites (I wouldn't know how to install it any how). I would also like BROWN GRIPS (Plastic or wood) but no luck there either. Anyway, it's a GREAT Gun as is and only needs a CUSTOM made Holster it can fit properly in.

this is a great gun for anybody, anyage to have... if you dont like stock parts, it is one of the best guns for buying cusomized parts for. also powerfull enough to kill any samll varmet, cant kill a coyote or bigger, but anything under that, consider it dead when you got this airgun in your hand... i highly recommend it.

The *worst* thing about the piece was getting it out of the plastic packaging ! Be careful, it will cut you !
As delivered, trigger was terrible. Rough, creepy, and hard. A little work, and it's more than good now.

Advertised 460 FPS but I'm getting 360 with Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums on a 75F degree spring day.
Hit's hard, though. Won't punch though 1/2 inch plywood, but it will through 1/4 ply !
Last powerlet took 46 shots to pierce the cap, and get any CO2, but internet search says Crosman
had a bad run on powerlets, so I'm not blaming the gun, yet. First one took 6 shots. ( same batch )

Seen criticism of the plastic breech, but I find it excellent ! I'll probably never bother with the steel breech option.
It's not a $1000 match grade target pistol, but it's well worth the selling price.
I would buy another, and probably will.

This is an amazing gun with huge accuracy. You can modify it to the point of pure power. Mine shoots about 850 fps once I easily modified it. Brilliant piece of engineering!!!

This is a great bit of kit for the price. Accurate, powerful and easy to shoot. I've added a silencer, (stops the neighbours getting too nosey), and a red dot sight, (for really quick target acquisition), which really enhance the shooting experience. The trigger is not the smoothest, but it does the job OK.
Excellent for tackling small, close range vermin, ( such as rats, squirrels and pigeons), which are despatched cleanly at 10 meters.
Great as a 'trainer' as it's easy to load, (no heavy cocking) and not too heavy to hold.
Accurate enough for target work so long as you don't push the range too much.
Approx' 60 shots per Co2 capsule.
I would definately recommend this pistol for the above useage.

i have had this model since it first came out, found it to be very accurate and durable. would recommend it to anyone weather a novice shooter or experenced.

I bought this gun after reading all the great reviews, and they were rite! This gun is very powerful ! I wish the rear sites were a bit better and am looking into changing them but other than that a great gun to have and fun to shoot..

excellent shooter! i have had this since it first came out and it is still working great. very accurate and reilable. a true workhorse. however i didn't know that they were modifiable. going to try the steel breach. an over all excellent airgun that i would recomment to anyone. i hope that the parts will continue to be available for these.

anyone considering a new pellet gun, this is it. there are no problems. 460 fps and a sleek design that you can modify the crap out of, make this an ideal gun. Comes with plastic hand grips and everything else is metal. Has a timeless design and beautiful accuracy. Once again, all around amazing gun for beginners and experienced sharp shooters alike.

This is a great gun. I have this model but I got my pistol modified through crosman!'s custom shop. I could not be more happier except for the length of time it took for me to receive my order. Too long!!!

I have had this gun for quite a while and it's a great shooter. I plan on doing some mods on to make it an even better shooter. I would recommend this gun for anyone who wants a potent , easy to use gun.

INCREDIBLE GUN!! Eccellent weight, When I got it I shot an Obi-Wan figurine to smitherssess.... he dead. the only thing I would complain about is the grips, They are tough, but sound more hollower than an easter egg! GET THIS GUN!! IT HAS LOTS OF POTENTIAL!!

This is a cheap, but very easy to use pistol. But, the steel breech is a must have for this gun to make it more reliable, and accurate. Also, it has endless modding combinations, witch result in performance, and looks.
