Magazine problem - resolved
By mjgkramer

My earlier review was very positive but since posting it I had a major problem with the magazine. After filling it and gently releasing the BB follower tab, it spewed all of the BBs out the business end of the magazine. Nothing I did prevented this from happening. I sent an email to customer service and within a few days a magazine of improved design arrived. Holds 20 BBs rather than 18 and has a much better BB follower tab. Thanks Crosman.

C31 Clips Update
By Wild Bill
2013-05-14 19:17:52
In a recent post I posted that the problem was with the slots on the side of the clips. It is NOT the side slots. It is the slots on the clip that are on either side of the spring opening.
I went to Walmart and bought the clips for a C11. Brought them home and did some checking/measuring. The slots are not wide enough for a C31. I put the clips in the benchtop mill and widened the slots on both sides using a 3/32" end mill. A dremel could also be used. Go slow.
I now have two extra clips for my C31.
Long story short, manufacturing flubbed up when these parts were cast. Sure has caused alot of frustration for C31 owners.

Great for practice for the real thing

Recently bought a Glock 23 Gen 4 40 caliber semi-automatic for home protection, my first pistol. Also bought a C31 so I could practice at home before going to the range. Yesterday I went to the range with an experienced friend and beat him at both 7 yards and 10 yards. I attribute it to practicing with the C31 first. A great product.

Fun BB pistol

I have had to remount the rear sight, and machine a delrin insert for the front of the barrel. The hole in the front of the gun that the barrel comes out of is to big and allows the barrel to move around affecting accuracy. The insert I made keeps the barrel centered and my accuracy is improved. I am hitting a metal chair back at 100 feet.
I too have been bitten by the Clip incompatibility. The slots on the stock clip are 7/16" apart. The C11 ones everybody has tried, including myself, the slots are 5/16" apart and located differently than the stock clip. Doesn't make sense to manufacture different clips for different guns when the clips are basically identical. It has to do with those slots on the sides. Somebody flubbed up somewhere. I am tempted to re-machine some C11 clips to match the stock clips and see what happens.
I have taken a Pringles plastic lid and cut a slot in the side just big enough for a BB to roll through. I then pour BB's in the lid and line up the slot with the port on the clip. I support the clip on a roll of masking tape so the BB's will roll down the inside of the clip. This speeds up loading and BB's don't end up all over the place.
Now to solve the clip delema. Crosman ought to supply us posters with an extra clip that works in this Great C31 Co2 BB Pistol.

Nice design, good price, lots of bbs fired with just one co2 tank. About sights, the orange one fell off before I fired the first shot, solution, I pushed it inside again and it stayed there nice and tight. About the magazines... I didn't knew that, but there must be some way of getting one

This gun is a fantastic piece of crosman machinery. It is accurite, strong, and just looks awesome. You can get about 5-6 magazines worth of co2 out of it. The only negative thing I have to say about it is the rear sight keeps falling off. It may just be my gun. But its nothing glue wont fix.

I have had this gun a year now and it is still working like when i got it out of the box. It will shoot as good as my rifle. I can shoot about 300bullits with one co2 tank. It sounds like alot but it is true. I don't now what that guy was talking about that did not like this gun. He said the top fell of. Unless you torcher the gun it wont fall off. I love this gun. I can hit a can at 30 yards with it. Hop you find this usefull. Also like the sites.

I have also tried to find spare clips for my C31. Every set I find will not clip in correctly. The C11 clips DO NOT WORK! Please help. The is the only thing holding this pistol back because it rocks!!!!! This gun has taken me back to when I was an 8 year old at my grandparents and going out shooting in the woods. Fun fun fun...

New clips will not work!

The C31 is a good gun. My only problem is with the extra clips. I have tried three different stores and sets of clips from all three will not lock in. I have no problem with clip that came with the gun. The extra ones in the packs don't seem to have a deep enough grove to let the lock work. I called Crosman and was told that they would find me some extra clips, that is to be seen. As most people say the extra clips would make this a fun gun.

When I first received the gun it worked like a charm, I fell in love! After using up my first co2 cartridge, I went to replace it and found after doing so it suddenly started to make a small noise, it was leaking air! I have no idea how or why it happen. I tried several more times only to waste 3/4 more. I even inspected the gun along with my dad and it looked fine. I've also been using the co2 cartridges the gun came with so its not due to a foreign kind of cartridge. I can only assume i left the used cartridge in the gun for too long altering it somehow. On another note the red dot sight was very troublesome to calibrate even after reading the directions several times, it seemed to not want to move, then the batteries died-_-
