My benjamin pump pistol does not have a model number. The finish on the brass is partly worn off from approximately 50 years of use. I've only had to change the seals a couple of times. I think it is going to outlive me. That should give you an estimate of how long this pistol should last.

I shot a dime sized hole in 3/4 inch plywood used as backstop. Sure it was over a long time but very accurate.Very Sturdy construction well thought out.

    Best air pistol around

Air pistols don't come any better than this. The new models look exactly the same as my old 1994 model HB17, only difference is the packaging I guess, since mine came in a cardboard box. Anyway, I have shot this thing to death, and it still works perfectly and does not leak. Also it is extremely accurate, and has a nice, crisp trigger pull. Pumping force is moderate, not too bad. I usually use only 5 or 6 pumps to take down rats and snakes (you can pump it up to 8 times). Maintenance is very minimal, and there is no worry of rust, since the barrel and pump tube are made of brass. These are really, really great pistols, perfectly reliable and I honestly have no idea how long they last, but probably decades without any trouble. These guns are built like a tank, just like the Benjamin and Sheridan rifles.

    great air pistol

This is very good out of the box, I wish, actually it comes in the miserable plastic see through things that require an engineering degree to open but the gun is very good as it comes but the nice thing is there are so many mods for it that it can become great. I added the long steel breech from Crosman custom parts which I then mounted a BSA red dot sight and also a trigger shoe. I also have a custom shop 2300 co2 which cost twice as much but the thing I like better about the 1377 is you can set the velocity anywhere from very low up to maximum of 600 fps and no co2 capsules to buy plus it is easier to hold 2 handed using the pump grip for your non trigger hand. There are many more mods available other than the ones Ive mentioned and best of all is the low price....
