Benjamin Trail break barrel air rifles are the first to feature the all new Nitro Piston™ 2 system featuring an upgraded powerplant and all-new, enhanced Clean Break Trigger (CBT™).

The new Trail guns shoot 15% faster and deliver more energy with double the effective shooting range of the original Trail series. All in a smoother-shooting gun with less vibration, less recoil, and up to a 10-pound reduction in cocking force.

The Benjamin Trail rifles also include an integrated sound suppression system that makes the gun quieter than ever.

And every gun is put together by American workers in our manufacturing headquarters in Bloomfield, New York.

The .22 caliber Benjamin Trail shoots up to 1200 fps (alloy) and delivers 26 foot pounds of energy (fpe). It includes a CenterPoint 3-9 x 32 mm scope. The All-Weather synthetic stock features a thumbhole configuration with rubber recoil pad.

    Trail NP2

Great! After the break in of 300 rounds, at 20 paces( 20 yards). It will hold 10 to 12 rounds within a thumb nail. I had the older model. This is better. Great gun.

I love this Benjamin Trail NP2 Synthetic (.22)

I bought this one at Academy 7-31-14 for $209.95 plus tax. I took it back 8-5-14 and exchanged it for another one because the scope reticle kept spinning around after a number of shots. I fell in love with the second one. I've shot around 600 -700 Crosman Hollow Points through it so far. This NP2 is so quiet and accurate it is a joy to shoot. It is spot on and makes me look good when out shooting with friends. It is so easy to cock I don't get tired of cocking it after a long session of shooting. It has great knock down power at 30 yards and the trigger is so smooth I can easily compare it to my .410 shotguns trigger. It took about 50 shots or so to get really use to it. I was not holding it right at first, but now I've got it set just right and the cocking has become even easier and it's even quieter after my first tin of 500. The scope reticle has not moved at all and I'm confident it will hold straight now. The only negative I can say is on the scope you can either have the target in focus or the reticle in focus but not both at certain distances. Up close 10 yards or so they both focus in. I have had to tighten the scope down several times now probably because this thing is powerful. I almost went for another Gamo at the store, but now I'm glad I went with this brand instead. It's my first Benjamin and I absolutely love it. I did clean the barrel right after taking it out of the box and would recommend others do the same as there were lots of gunk in there right out the box. I put it on a Postal scale and it weighs 8lbs exactly. The only thing else I can say is it is light but solid feeling and I love how it looks too.

    Love it, despite its flaws

I bought the NP2 with synthetic stock from cheaperthandirt.com. I had a bit of a shipping issue with them, but they bent over backwards to make it right and I recommend them highly.

    The rifle:
    PROs
    - The new trigger is very crisp. I never experienced the previous NP trigger, so I cannot compare. But I used to have a Savage .22lr with a fantastic 2-stage trigger. And the NP2 rivals that.
    - It shoots awesome. After ~100 shot break-in, I put 10 shots in less than 1.5" at 22yds. That was with Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum (the cheap stuff).
    - Shots sound like clapping two blocks of wood together. It's hardly silent, but since it's subsonic it cannot be mistaken for gunfire. Unless you have a lot of noise in your area, your neighbors will hear you firing, but they may not call the police.
    - The pellets hit super hard. Though I don't have a chronograph and don't know how power compares to the hype.

    CONs
    - Scope is functional, but not fantastic. I can't get it to focus sharply at 30yds at 9x magnification. But it is usable.
    - Could not dial in scope height. I had to "shim" it by putting 3 wraps of electrical tape around scope at rear ring. Now it's dialed in PERFECTLY at 20 yds.
    - Factory work is sloppy. There were many tooling marks that wiped off with my finger. The plastic cone at the bottom of the barrel shroud is 1mm too long and so it arrived cracked. I find this largely cosmetic, and I am not willing to ship the whole gun back to get it corrected. Hopefully Crosman will send just a replacement cone.
    - My rifle did not come with a shoulder strap. Apparently older models did. So don't expect one now.

Note: When cocking it is important to hit the bottom of the stroke fairly hard to engage the trigger. If the barrel tries to pop back up under air pressure, you have not hit it hard enough to engage the trigger. Once the trigger is engaged, the piston feels limp. You can load the pellet and then lift the barrel back into place by hand. I want to teach my kids to shoot, but I will probably have to cock each shot.

Overall, gun is terribly fun. I plink out of my dining room window at targets 20, 30 & 40 yds. I can't wait to take it hunting small game.

Originally I ordered the NP2 with the real tree camo, but because of customs problems at the factory end I had to change my order. This synthetic model is heavyier than I had ecpected, but as soon as I mounted the scope and went to my local gun range to sight it in I was over joyed , the first shot at 25 yards only missed the bullseye by 1 inch made adjust ment with scope and evey shot there after tore up the bullseye. This rifle is also much quieter than the orginal NP trail that I sold to my hunting partner. We are both looking forward to the up coming squirrel season in a couple of weeks. I have also found that using the domed, Ultra Mag pellets works best for accuracy and for dead kills on all shots.

    Benjamin Trail NP2 Synthetic (.22)

Well Worth the wait. I ordered last winter because my Benjamin Trail NP was not quiet powerful enough to give me the range I need, and received in June. I am blown away. It is really accurate and powerful. Only comment I have is I wish it came with a Benjamin sling (at increased price, of course), and with the scope attached and aligned.

    Benjamin Trail NP2

    By Luther Baker

Finally received the NP2 in the mail and WOW, I had it sited in quickly (10) shot and shot about 250 Benjamin 14g's through it that evening and again WOW! This thing really shoots good me and my brother (He was shooting a Titan NP) hardly ever missed I must say this gun shoots much better than I can LOL the misses where all me. We took the 2 guns to my uncles pond today and tagged 30 to 35 turtle's it's really hard to tell as some of them sunk to the bottom. At 60 yards this gun is dead on accurate.
My order through Pyramid Air was delayed twice on delivery and pyramid actually called me when the delays happened. I had asked them if Crosman pushed this back to fix some of the early defects and they said that Crosman was doing just that. I'm glad I waited on the delays as this gun is one the best guns I have now. I have shot over 2000 pellets trough it and is still holding up, I can tell you that I believe this gun will last and be around for the long run. I have shot Benjamin, JSB and Crosman premium pellets and they all have a different impact point but are all accurate to boot again WOW!
The ONLY down fall of this package is the scope, it is very clear and holds zero but I cannot turn the magnification up past 4.5 or it gets blurry!
I highly recommend this air rifle, just save up a little and get a better scope.
