I have lost hope for airsoft guns

By TheDoctor19981

I had it for ONE day and it broke. I was shooting it and then it stopped shooting. I charged the battery and shook the hopper a little bit. Then the mag/battery connector snapped. You would be better off with a spring gun or a pistol.

R71 Problems

By Joe

2013-10-14 14:33:30
Look cool but I used it about 5 or 6 times and then it just stopped working. It might be the battery doesn't charge or the charger malfunctioned or there is some other mechanical failure. Does anyone know how to fix it or where to buy a replacement battery.
Does anyone know how to stop the jamming in auto mode?

This gun is absolutely terrible, The "Supressor" is wobbly and fell off and broke, the plastic stock fell off because I dropped it all of three feet, and the "mag" is the battery, and the "scope" is the magazine. This gun broke in 2 days. TERRIBLE DO NOT BUY!

Battery

By Anonymous

2013-08-10 20:47:04
I have had this gun for two days. Worked great. I was out shooting with it, and it stopped firing. I thought the battery had ran out, which was reasonable sense I had been firing it for a while. So, I went in and plugged it up. A few hours later, I go out to fire it again. No luck. I go back inside and I charge it up again, a few hours later, still no luck. Here are some other problems beside the battery. (I have read some other comments, and people are saying things similar to what I am saying, so obviously this is a continuing problem, not just one single defective gun.)

-Why use the scope to hold the BBs?! I mean, really. Just use the clip (Which is the battery) to hold the BBs! It'd be much easier to reload.
-Since the scope is used the hold the BBs, the scope itself sucks. There is hardly a hole to see through, and it's basically worthless because of the low FPS.
-It gets jammed a lot on Semi-Auto. Same with Auto, but not as usual.

If it stops working either it needs a charge or it has a jam. Normally if you shake it a bit it clears if not use an unjaming stick.

It works very well for close up or ambush, but isnt great for longer range battles. The battery works great if you charge it right but I carry an extra one with me. The only problem I have with it is the semi auto jams every once in a while. Over all I think its great.

Help

By Anonymous

2013-07-11 21:35:15
For 5 months this gun completely worked for me. Then it stopped shooting, then I figured it just needed to charged so I charged it a couple of times. After that it still didnt shoot . For 3 days I just kept charging it and I thought it was completely broken and I punched it. Then it started working again! and after shooting it for a couple of hours it stopped working again, so I charged it a bunch of times and hit it in the same place and it still doesnt work D; If anybody could help me I would EXTREMELY appritiate it.

As for performance when it worked, It was a pretty good gun it had small range and the hopper/scope wasnt very accurate, but it had an awesome rate of fire and was epic in close-quarters airsoft battles.

You'd be better off with a pistol

By Anonymous

2013-04-12 15:26:11
I have to say this gun must have been made in 20 minutes because there are so many things wrong with it.
-Has enough battery power to shoot 80 BBs
-Battery runs out very fast
-BBs go in the scope
-The battery is the mag
-The suppressor decreases FPS
-Battery can be changed only 2 - 5 times until it fries
I do not recommend buying this. Insted buy a pistol because at least it will last longer.

I traded for this just a while ago. Against an AK47, I only got hit a few times due to the light weight I could run around and take cover and the accuracy isn't all that bad, but not perfect either, I'd recommend it for CQB, and MAYBE medium range, but the ROF can be a little random at times, but all-in-all, it's a good gun if you're not too into airsofting, I'd recommended it to newbies to the sport of air-soft. :]

By The Archer

2013-03-13 12:45:10
even though this gun seems ok, its not. Dont Be fooled by the exterior design. The hop up is non existing, the mag is the scope (which isnt even a scope, it doesnt zoom or have a red dot). when you aim at say a can, you wont hit it. If you look through the "scope" you will have to aim about a 6 or so inches higher than the target. Thats how much the accuracy is off.

I got this gun for christmas of 2012. I have had no trouble with it, no battery problems, no anything. I think the gravity feed needs some work, but overall, it's a great gun. Yes, it should be used only in close-quarters combat. For long range combat, I would use a high-powered pistol or rifle.

i got this gun at a local sports authority and it ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. the stock and "silencer" is wobbily and the fps is TERRIBLE. the mag is the scope and the magazine is actually the battery. it only lasts for 10 minutes at a time and it takes it about 5 hours to charge. i would not reccomend this gun and i would save up for a better quality gun.

By ;) Unified Cheese

It's a light (As in weight) AEG with a decent range that is good for CQB and mid range battles. I do recommend that you READ THE DIRECIONS!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you that have given bad reviews on this so far, it's because your either a hardened professional or you don't know how to put on some honest effort while trying to fix it. As I said before, it is good for beginners (Like me) and for the inbetweeners of this wonderful sport/ activity known as airsoft

I payed 40 something $ for this gun at Walmart and found that it doesn't have very good range or aceracy. If you put ultrasonic bb's in it, it never jams and gets better range but not aceracy. It does make a good side arm though but I would not run into a battle with just this.

well i got this gun about 7 months ago and i have mixed thoughts about it. first ill tell you that the magazine is the battery ,you load it through the scope (the scope has an aiming tube no reticles) ,if you get the black model the suppressor will be clear it has VERY little range about 30 feet.200 fps and a decent rate of fire. it should be 10 dollars less for what it is.

The hopper jams up alot. the rate of fire sucks with the silencer and can jam up easily. It's good for close quarters but nothing else. keep the silencer off and you might have less issues with it.

I got this gun and started using it right after I got home from the store. The accuracy was poor, but that was probably due to the fact that i was using .12 gram bbs. It also lacked range and fps. But after the battery ran out i went in to charge it. After i charged it it wont work. I don't know if it was the battery or the gun itself.

about a year ago i got the TACR71A (the same thng but the body is clear) and for my first assault rifle it was pretty good. where it lacked in acuraccy, it made up for in shear berutalness on the battle feild. this gun could take a beating as well as deliver one with the full auto. I lost the battery for my R71A and because i was to lazy to look on ebay for a new one and the enexpensive cost, i bought a new one. only this time, i got the TACR71B, wich is black. even though the "scilencer" dosent work at all, and the semi-auto malfunctions when the gun is pointed at the ground, it is a great gun for beginers.

I just got this gun today. This gun is a great gun for beginners, although i went through my first day with tape holding the scope on because I put it on wrong repeatedly. It is great for looks and impressing my friends, as it pops huge holes in coca-cola cans. It is my first AEG gun, and I really like it. When my battery runs out all i have to do is charge it for 10-20 minutes then it is fine for a while. I wish the silencer was a real one, and that it didnt affect the BBs so much. When I got it (today) my Best Friend was texting me and when he found out it had a silencer, he called it boss. When we found out it was a mock one, we were disappointed, but it still had good looks. Overall I was very pleased with its performance. In truth, I love it.

I was going to get this gun when my friend told me not to he said it shot like 25 feet and the gun may be good for cqb.(cqb means close quarter battles) Then you have to have the stupid scope on or it will not shoot bbs. Then there is the battery it lasts for like 10 minutes. My best airsoft guns are from crosman like the S32P the P30T. I really expected more from crosman im not dishin crosman or any thing they just have to fix the flaws in this gun. Id recommend any other crosman gun

Like the looks, love the price, and am a little disappointed in the performance. After buying another brand's guns, this is a real disappointment in the performance category. This is even more so, since 2 of the best airguns I ever bought in my life were from Crosman. I had two of the copies of the colt python by crosman in the 80's and loved them. I also during the 80's had 2 crosman 2200 pellet rifles... oh man did I love those. Used to have a 6x scope on the 2200 and wow was it a good silent varmint gun. I really expected a bit better function when I finally bought one of crosman's airsofts. Oh well, at least it didn't cost much. Give Crosman time; they will get the airsoft thing figured out. I have no doubt.

this gun is pretty legit. It can shoot very far and has pretty good accuracy. I also like that it has two modes: semi- and full-automatic. So yeah, this gun is pretty legit.

I was looking for a good LPEG just to get me started in the airsoft field. I saw this at bass pro shops for 50 dollars on black friday. So far i am impressed. the box says 200 fps but i chronoed it at my friends house and after just being charged for the first time it was shooting 246 fps consistently. there is one thing though, i would recommend you do not use the mock silencer because it drastically decreases the accuracy and fps. the gun has hop-up and the silencer just make it so the bbs just sorta bounce out of it because they would normally hop-up right out of the barrel. other than that i reallly like the look and feel of the gun. great for cqb. i would recommend it for starters however if you are a professional than no. i would like to know if you could get a smart charger for it and also if there are any spring upgrades that will fit this gun. Overall i love crosman and i think this gun is decent.

Not what I thought it would be.

I bought this looking for something low power to shoot around in a small back yard. I had had no idea low power would mean no power. It will not even penetrate a paper bag at 6 feet. The scope was also disappointing as it is the hopper for the ammo and not really a scope at all. It took about three cycles for the battery to charge and keep a charge. It is a great gun for teaching small kids about gun safety however. Due to it's lack of power you can rest a little easier letting them handle it. Accuracy is not very good either. I have not been able to measure groupings because it wont even go through the paper targets we bought. If you want to have a "cool" looking gun, this might do it. If you want to do some target plinking, move on. the only benefit I have found, is that I can actually shoot this gun in the house.

Just today I purchased the tacr71, at first I was pretty excited about the gun, in case you don’t understand the “scope” is the hopper and can’t shoot without it. No big deal (the gun is not accurate enough for a scope anyways) and the full auto firing is… awesome. then I put it into semi auto. Click. whirr click. Nothing. I HOPE I was just unlucky normally crosman does good on their products I get my other gear from them, but the gun I got was J.U.N.K. now IF it works it was good! real fun to shoot and all but I would recommend Wal-mart (they give you your money back)
Also it only shoots like 35 feet… that’s it. (cross your fingers it was just my gun)

This was my 2nd AEG (Automatic-Electric Gun - Airsoft term) and, though it was better than my first, it was not what you might hope for. I couldn't find the hop-up adjustment anywhere and to this day I'm still trying to find a good use for the hopper-scope. I can say that the hopper-scope is more advanced than other models. It has a tube for you to look through to aim instead of only holding BB's. The gun almost never jammed, but the mechanism will if you use Semi-Auto incorrectly. Terrible range and FPS, will eat up expensive .20 BB's, and comes with a mock silencer which does a little for the sound and greatly reduces range and FPS. The stock is very fragile and pretty floppy. Has a cocking bolt for looks. Being a movie-maker, I liked that. I overcharged the battery a couple times so now it won't work. You can probably get either a smart charger or a few spare batteries off e bay. For the movie-maker, looks great, lots of customization. Perfect for the SWAT team or remove everything for the mob boss look. For experts and competitors, I recommend this gun ONLY for indoor CQC MAYBE. For the backyard warmonger or Walmart shopper, this is probably a good start to eventually work your way up to a pro load-out with an AEG of $100 or more. Also, if you don't like the pistol grip, you can remove it by removing the pin, then silencer, then rail, then sights, then it slides right off.
