2013 NRFTC Registration Now Open February 8, 2013 Field Targets Twitter0Facebook0LinkedIn0 The Northeast Regional Field Target Championship has been set for July 12-14 on the Bloomfield campus of Crosman Corporation, host for the 2013 event. Participants may register online or download and mail their form. “This will be the fourth year for the NRFTC and we expect upwards of 70 rifle and pistol shooters to participate,” said Mark DeBoard, Shooting Services Manager for Crosman. The rifle event takes place over two days with competitors taking 60 shots each day and those with highest number of “hits” being the winners. Shooters compete in a variety of divisions and classes based on the equipment they will be using, taking both their airgun and support equipment into consideration. The event is governed under the rules of the American Field Target Association. Field target requires a shooter to successfully manage a course of fire in which they attempt to knock down steel targets set at distances ranging from 15 to 50 yards. The event is open to all ages. “Shooting is truly a level playing field for parents and their kids, making it a great family experience. Age, height, weight don’t give an advantage so we see adults and youths both performing at high levels and leaving with huge smiles,” added DeBoard. The public is invited to attend as well. “The event is free to anyone who would like to come out and learn more about field target and airguns in general,” says Laura Evans, PR Manager for Crosman. “Being a regional championship draws a lot of the professional field target competitors from around the country. We also have many novice, some first-timers and weekend shooters participate. It’s a great mix.” Onlookers will see everything from high-end multi-thousand dollar custom airgun setups to off-the-shelf guns. “The shooters love to share their knowledge of the sport to anyone that is interested, that’s what makes this such a neat event,” added Evans.
