The Crosman phantom is a powerful new rifle with an innovative body style, tailored to the break barrel user. It is the first of a new generation of break barrel designs, featuring sleek, clean and defined lines and all-weather, synthetic stock and forearm. It features a checkered grip and forearm and incredible break barrel power at a velocity of up to 1,000 feet per second. The Phantom also features a rifled steel barrel, a fiber optic front sight and micro-adjustable fiber optic site. In addition, the Phantom's two-stage adjustable trigger allows each shooter to customize the trigger pull to accommodate personal shooting preference.

Refurbished Phantom 1000X
The only original parts are the barrel, compression tube, and stock. Piston, spring, seals, guides, and trigger group are all new. The trigger group is the plastic trigger blade unit and in my opinion it is better as a stock trigger than the steel trigger blade unit. The barrel was the dirtiest I have ever seen. There are some surface blems, but the rifle shoots well. The scope rings that come with the gun are totally useless. Better rings will stop the scope from sliding around. The internals in this gun are not the same as the exploded view on the Crosman site. I detuned this rifle to 800 fps to make it a smoother shooter. Recoil with max velocity is very harsh and the rifle will probably be a scope killer. The rifle shoots very well at the 800 fps level. I'll probably shoot it with the open sights and forget about the scope. Accuracy was erratic until after about 200 shots. The gun has settled down to be a good, accurate shooter. Worth every penny of the $59.00!
review of refurbished Fury
I thought I'd write a short review of the Fury which is the same gun without open sights, and a plastic cocking handle called a muzzle brake at the end of the barrel.
The gun looks and shoots like a new gun. The only way you can tell it is a refurb is by the little "r" stamped on the breech. Gun is accurate after a break in of about 200 shots. Scope is not the greatest, but it works. I'm going to order a refurb phantom too for the open sights.
Really good :)!!!!
