Pumpmaster 760 (.177/BB) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 21.Rated 4 out of 5 by Sam the ice cream man from Okay for hunting I bought my Pumpmaster a few years ago when it used to say for Pest Control, Target and planking and I've used it for hunting a lot of times you just have to know how to use it I like hunting the fox squirrel and Eurasian collared dove since it's legal in my area to do so, I've dropped multiple doves with four pumps, today I got a fox squirrel Square in the head with 10 pumps 4-6 pumps don't have the power to take down a squirrel just make sure to have heavy pellets about 10.5 or 10.6 and make sure it's a square on headshot right above the eyes and you should hit the brain and when I get a pellet gun to replace it for the backyard hunting I will give my Pumpmaster to my niece.Date published: 2017-08-27Rated 3 out of 5 by Chadster1975 from Meant for fun, not meant for serious use. I've had this BB gun for years and it works just fine for what it is. It's not meant for shooting at anything with a heartbeat. It's not meant for any kind of shooting competition. This is a starter gun that is meant for a paper target from 30 to 60 yards and nothing else. If your intention is for literally anything else you need to step up to another gun. If you just want to throw a few BB's through some paper in your backyard or basement this gun is cheap and will hold together for many years.Date published: 2017-05-10Rated 4 out of 5 by Upfinn from Decent for price. Picked up this pellet rifle for my boys to practice shooting. I was hoping for it to be like the one I had as a kid, it's not as high of quality. However it does have decent accuracy, at 10 meters I can group 3 pellets into a nickel size group with quality RWS supermag pellets and a scope with six pumps. the fore end needs to be wider, i have pinched my had pumping for the kids . Also the sights are ok, but a finer front blade would be better and maybe a fiber optic. Overall for the price, it's a decent little pellet rifle. Not a competition rifle but a decent little air rifle to teach and plink with.Date published: 2017-07-19Rated 2 out of 5 by Chuck from Almost Great Brought this weapon over six months ago it started out as a great product targets, and vermin shooting while shooting at a squirrel it stopped shooting there is no pressure while pumping. When I pump it gets no better I shoot nothing I can throw my pellets faster than what shoot out. I cannot hit a target at 20 feet, this weapon is DEAD after 6 months this is not the same 760 I had as a kid it don't have the same feel and it's much lighter very dissatisfiedDate published: 2017-09-22Rated 1 out of 5 by Nhimmerich from Defective and broken within 30 shots. Didn't feed BBs 80% of time, jams 25% of time, will not fire after about 30 BBs being fired altogether. Ironically used Crosman Copperhead BBs. Failure to fire has something to do with the trigger or valve, it is pumped but will not fire. Jammed BBs had to be removed with by sticking something into the magazine/bolt area to unjam the BB, and doing so started to split the plastic. Owned for 4 hours before it became a 3 pound awkward paperweight. The old ones were a great build quality, I don't know what happened to Crosman. This is their flagship classic air rifle, and it doesn't work whatsoever. Warranty may cover a replacement, tentative, but this many problems so quickly makes me wary of even a replacement. Stick to the higher build quality stuff, Crosman still seems to make a decent airgun, but definitely avoid the "classic" 760 Pumpmaster.Date published: 2017-09-28Rated 1 out of 5 by buddy888 from disappointing i purchased this last xmas thinking i couldn't go wrong with this since it's an all time classics... well i was wrong. i picked up the gun today to play around and the bolt stopped working. pump continues to work but the trigger didnt do anything. i was totally disappointed and decided to go w/ another air gun, but not with crosman this time.Date published: 2017-09-29Rated 1 out of 5 by Big D from not good Not accurate at all. The pellet holder you need to get the pellets in was wearing out after 3 reloads so the pellets were lose in holder. Took it back 20 minutes of being out of the box. Not the Crosman I had back in the early 80s. Pass on this oneDate published: 2017-05-08Rated 2 out of 5 by Davis177 from Not what they used to be. I have one of these that my dad bought for me as a kid in the 80s. It's a wonderful gun and still works perfectly. I bought this "updated" version for my boys and am disappointed. It does seem to be accurate, but it feels low quality. It's much more cumbersome to fill the BB reservoir and the ability to easily load single pellets is gone. The pellet clip feels like I may damage the gun trying to insert it. The current 760 Pumpmaster does not live up to its name.Date published: 2017-06-03
