I own a lot of air guns, of both American and imported manufacturers. As far as oldest and still working, that would be a Crosman .22 Classic I purchased when I was in Jr. high school in the early 1970's. It was far more accurate than most air rifles I had back then, and it put a lot of rabbits and squirrels in the stew pot back then! It always supplied a lot of enjoyment, too. It got to the point where nearly any target within 30 yards was unsafe from someone with that pistol. When more streamlined pellets became available, that range increased. Although the pistol still operated, I had the seals replaced in about 2010 because the power had been decreasing from simple wear and tear. It was $20 well spent because the gun shoots nearly as good as new, and does to this day. I've considered ordering the stock attachment for this model, and I am waiting for the Crosman Customer Service folks to answer the email I just sent to be sure the stock fits a model this old. Simply a great pistol!

Same great gun as the American Classic (.177) I purchased two years ago as a replacement for my 50 year old original Crosman 130 (.22), now retired to collectible antique status with my powder firearms. I do like the older styled rounded pump lever of my (.177) better than the new design as it provides a better grip and I liked the brown choice of color of it better than black. But after 50 years of plinking and pest elimination I’m just glad to see this old gun still in production. Although pricing seems to have risen recently it is still the best bang for your buck and no co2 to be concerned about for an afternoon of fun or adding to shooting cost.
