Shooting is unique. You can participate as an individual or as a member of a team. You can be short or tall, underweight or overweight, male or female, it makes no difference. Shooting can be a lifetime sport for you or your family.
It is with that in mind that Crosman created a department dedicated to serving the needs of the shooting sports community. Crosman Shooting Services goes beyond just customer service. The department provides the kind of services you will not find anywhere else, at a level of commitment that’s hard to find. If you’d like to start a shooting program or need help with anything related to shooting sports, Crosman’s Shooting Services team is there for you.
Shooting Services is your source for fundraising, recruiting, public relations, program development, range design, support services, instructor training and education. And the Crosman Shooting Services staff also works with designers to develop and tested new products to meet the needs of the shooting community.
Members of the staff serve on national committees to help formulate policy to keep shooting programs viable and oversee the largest airgun competition in the world. Shooting Services provides supervisory staff for major events, such as the Boy Scouts of America’s National Jamboree. They author articles on shooting, develop training materials and program guidelines.
Many youth-oriented organizations in the United States have a shooting sports program. Boy Scouts of America, 4-H, Izaak Walton League, YMCA, Venturing, Royal Rangers, Future Farmers of America and others. Chances are, there is a program near you. Whether you are just looking to learn the fundamentals, or want to become a world-class competitor, or anything in-between, these organizations can provide the level of instruction you need to reach your shooting goals. And, on the outside chance that you cannot find an established youth shooting program near your home, don’t despair.
You can start a program and it’s really very simple. Just call the National Rifle Association at 703-267-1430. The NRA will fax, e-mail or mail a list of people in your postal zip code area who are NRA Certified and eager to help you find a place to shoot. That does not necessarily mean you need an official firearms range or a trap/skeet field. All you need for an airgun range is a meeting hall, or a church basement, or firehouse. Any space 40 feet long and four feet wide for every shooter. The official distance for shooting air rifle or pistol is 33ft (10 meters) from firing line to the target. The rifle team at Drew University used a boiler room. Now that you have an instructor and a place to shoot, you will need equipment.
