ATTENTION OWNERS OF CROSMAN MODELS RM177, RM177X, RM677, RM677X AND RM622

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
September 2001
We have recently discovered a potential safety problem with Model numbers RM177, RM177X, RM677, RM677X and RM622 spring air rifles. These break-action air rifles were sold between June 2001 and August 2001.

Testing has shown that less than one half of 1 percent of these rifles may have the potential to discharge unexpectedly as the user closes the action after cocking the rifle. If the air rifle discharges unexpectedly while pointed at an individual, there is a risk of serious personal injury. Please stop using your rifle and call us at 1-800-724-7486 or 585-657-6161 so that we can make arrangements for you to return your rifle to us for repair. We will pay for the costs of shipping and for the repair. We appreciate your assistance and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

October 2003 UPDATE:
In October 2003, Crosman issued a joint announcement with the Consumer Protection and Safety Commission (CPSC) regarding this same matter. Crosman had notified consumers and retailers of this issue in September 2001, and to date, we have retrieved the great majority of these airguns. Please note that the October 2003 CPSC press release refers to this same voluntary recall and does not involve any additional air rifles.
