WEBSITE SAFETY NOTICE

In 2004, Crosman discovered a potential safety problem with Walther model CP Sport, CP99, and Nighthawk air pistols manufactured in 2003 by Umarex in Germany. Those CP Sports and CP 99s were manufactured from February through September 2003 and the Nighthawks were manufactured from October 2003 through December 2003.

We believe some of the air pistols may have the potential for the safety to move from the engaged or "safe" position to the disengaged or "fire" position if the trigger is pulled once or more and then released. Thus, a subsequent pull of the trigger would fire the air pistol if it is charged and loaded. If the air pistol is pointed in an unsafe direction, there would be a risk of serious personal injury.

If your air pistol has a serial number beginning with "J3," your air pistol may have this problem. If your air pistol has such a serial number, please stop using it. Please note: The serial number is located on the right side of the air pistol. If there is an asterisk (*) inscribed next to the serial number, the air pistol has already been inspected and found not to have this potential problem. Those air pistols with serial numbers beginning with J1, J2 and J4 are NOT subject to this Notice, and do not have the problem.

Umarex USA is now the company handling the CP Sport, CP99 and Nighthawk air pistols.

Please contact Umarex USA at 479-646-4210 for information and questions about the CP Sport, CP99 and Nighthawk air pistol.
