Jim Shockey Steel Eagle is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from First impressions .22 cal 75 +/- stoeger 14.3 grain pellets.so far. Sighting in was easy - started at 10 yards and walked back to my preferred range of 35 yards (until I move my fence another 10 yds). Shooting from sitting position, without any aids hitting a 2" gong consistent half the time. Not bad during break in and no resting aids. Working on fine tuning trigger adjustment. Not as bad as some reviewers state - I guess they want a silk purse for a sow's ear price. Scope does not adjust for magnification as advertised on box. No biggy but going to contact crossman to discuss. Ratings are based on the cost. If this was a $600 Diana, I'd be more particular.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Riffle The stock has a good feel. This riffle is hold sensitive and be prepared to try a lot of pellets but once the right pellet is found is pretty accurate. Cocking effort is easy. Love the picatinny rail. A better scope is needed for tighter groups. The recoil is kinda hard and noise level is also up there. Overall is a good riffle for a beginner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stock I had the og np1 was a good rifle but wasn't a fan of the thumb hole stock but when i saw the steel eagle XD i had to have out its been a great gun but within 200 rds of the crosman primers i noticed the rifle get a little louder so i inspected it and noticed the breech seal has a hairline crack in it.... I'm not whining or complaining just hoping this review gets me a link to where to buy this part as i can not find one...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun to Shoot I'm not a hunter. I shoot targets in the back yard. I have shot over 1,000 round thought it in the past year and keeps a good group at 30 yards. I made a target out of an old fire extinguisher and at 30 yards this gun will put a good dent in it. It's not too loud. My neighbors don't complain. This gun has enough power to take out the pest around your property.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trigger Sucks Recently bought this gun thinking it would be a great considering Jim Shockey has his name on it . I like the but the trigger is horrible... by the time the gun fires you have pulled the barrel off the target. Really disappointed in this trigger. At first I thought it was the scope but found out it's the trigger. Cannot zero this rifle in until I get a new trigger spring... and where do I find one?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I bought this made in the USA rifle, and other than the overly heavy trigger pull (even after adjustment) it seems to shoot well - keeping most groups within an inch at 25 yards. The scope on the other hand - not so great. It never would consistently respond to adjustments, so I gave up and bought a different scope and then had the rifle zeroed-in within 5 shots.
