Maximus Starter Kit (.22) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.Rated 5 out of 5 by PaulT58 from Excellent intro to PCP I received this as a birthday gift and could not be happier. It is very accurate and not to hard to fill with air using the included pump. I mounted a scope and it's shooting nice tight groups at 35 yards. This is definitely an excellent set up to get started in the world of PCP airguns!Date published: 2017-07-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Pontius Pilate from Awesome first PCP Rifle! I just got back into airguns last summer (2017) after about a 2 year hiatus. This is now my 5th Crosman/Benjamin gun. I heard so many great things about PCP rifles but thought they were way out of my budget until I wrote to Crosman and they pointed me to the Maximus. I decided on this bundle because I didn't have any of the equipment needed to fill it with air. I will tell you now, that the only negative to this rifle is that you may start neglecting your other rifles if you get the Maximus. It is so fun to shoot and pretty easy to pump. I would recommend staying with the pellets they include as the gun seems to like them. Also, the Crosman pellets are a tiny bit shorter than some of the other brands, and therefore easier to load. Other notes are that the included goggles are very basic and the rifle is pretty loud (about 6 or 7 decibels louder than my 760 and Mayhem). If noise is an issue, I recommend getting a muzzle brake for it. Mine reduces the report by about 8 db. At the end of the day, I would strongly, STRONGLY recommend this rifle and specifically this bundle to anyone looking for a sweet, wallet friendly PCP rifle.Date published: 2018-03-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Artie from Maximus .22 cal PCP rifle. This is my first PCP rifle and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I haven't had any problems with it and after sighting it in, I've been able to place the shots on top of each other. This rifle is more accurate than me. HA! Right now I'm trying to talk a friend of mine into purchasing one but he wants to try mine out first. I have several springers and a few of the old Benjamin pump ups, so air rifles are familiar to me. I have found it easier to cock the bolt back by hooking my index finger on the bolt and placing my thumb on the back of the rifle, then just squeezing them together. This puts less strain on the bolt handle and isn't at all difficult, thereby preventing stress on the bolt handle. I also like the fact that I can fill the Maximus with a scuba tank so I don't have to use the hand pump. The adapter was not expensive and since I have the tanks, I haven't had to purchase a small PCP compressor. One of the best things about air rifles is the low cost of pellets compared to firearm cartridges. Shoot an air rifle all day for pennies. I recommend this rifle to anyone wanting to get into the PCP market at a low cost. I know there are so many other rifles out there that have more features, but I just didn't want to break the bank to buy one.Date published: 2018-01-30
