.177 Crosman Destroyer 7.9gr Pellet (250ct) is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 5.Rated 5 out of 5 by Ghost from Great Hunting Pellet! I think these are great hunting pellets! The initial shock they have on pests is almost unbeatable. The power and penetration of these pellets are second to none when it comes to hollow points. Although if you are looking for a pellet that stays together when it hits a target these are not it. They will shed their ring around it's head, and continue on as a smaller but still deadly, and much more pointed pellet. Saying that though these are fantastic for pest control and even for targets that may need a little more penetration then what a standard hollow point will give you. While still retaining that devastating hollow point effect!Date published: 2017-12-04Rated 4 out of 5 by Arthur from They don't call them Destroyers for nothing... I've been shooting these suckers out of a spring-piston, 1000 fps airgun. Holy cannoli, do these bad boys shred targets like no other! I use a stout pellet catch to practice on indoors, and to sight my guns. The catch incorporates heavy duty drop cloth as the catch medium. Around thirty layers of the material will stop just about any small diameter pellet, and even some propellant rifle calibers. At around 15 to 20 yards a Destroyer will penetrate roughly 10 layers of cloth. It doesn't sound two impressive, but after peeling out the pellets I discovered they tore the interior layers to bits. A single Destroyer punches through the first few layers, and then takes everything behind with it. Mushrooming rounds plunge head first, with each rim catching and annihilating all the material through the entry path. The cavitation caused by these rounds is ludicrous! Normally pellets slide between fibers, and stop only when their kinetic energy is totally imparted, but not the Destroyer. It penetrates and then rips sections out; making holes that are roughly three times the diameter of the pellet. Of course, drop cloth isn't what I'm really hunting. I've got a real problem with woodland rodents. After seeing the stunning results with the catch, I was fairly certain what the outcome would be on pests. Awesome... just awesome. I prefer heart/lungs shots on my quarry. The cavitation is extremely effective. With the center point, I feel these pellets have better stability than regular hollow points. I get consistent entry angles and trajectories on pretty much all my shots. It feels great to drop pests right where they stand; with the power of each round clearly visible on the target. Some of the rodents I shoot have grown very large, and not being able to put them down was always a worry, but not anymore. I haven't had a single botched shot. Every pellet was hitting - one and done.Date published: 2017-07-07Rated 5 out of 5 by The pickle ice cream man from Greatest pellet for hunting and trapping When I first got into pellet guns this pellet was my favorite pellet and still is, my second favorite is the piranha, I mainly hunt with my pellet guns I have Hunted a lot of animals, I do a lot of hunting fox squirrels and Eurasian collared doves and have yet to be disappointed by this pellet, right before writing this review I took a fox squirrel with these pellets three shots to the head for some dumb reason and a heart shot I was only able to retrieve the pellet from The Body shot but nevertheless this pellet did not hit any bones Just Fur muscle and then vitals but I've had similar expansion hitting the bones before, unless they bring out a newer better version of the Destroyers which I'm not even sure is possible this will continue to be my favorite pellet.Date published: 2019-03-12Rated 1 out of 5 by VintageGunner from Jam vintage Crosman 760 rifle 2 of 3 pellets jammed in my 50 yr old Crosman 760 rifle. So, beware vintage gun owners. I continue to greatly respect Crosman despite the problem with Destroyer pellets. They rebuilt the 760 15+ yrs ago (for a reasonable fee) on behalf of our son. The gun still pressurizes & shoots fine. Grandchildren will almost certainly enjoy the gun:-)Date published: 2019-08-30Rated 1 out of 5 by ConfusedBuyer97 from Look at the pellets in the 4th photo. The pellets in the background 4th photo are not even the pellets being sold if you look closely. They're just you're average pointed pellets. Lol.Date published: 2019-08-31
