Crosman Announces Availability Of Nitro Piston 2 May 22, 2014 Featured, Press Releases Twitter0Facebook0LinkedIn0 The standard for break barrel airgun performance changes today with the announcement from Crosman Corporation that new Benjamin Trail rifles featuring the groundbreaking Nitro Piston 2 powerplant and Clean Break Trigger (CBT™) technology are now shipping. First revealed at SHOT Show to wide acclaim, the highly anticipated new generation of airguns deliver more speed and more power with incredible accuracy, all while being up to ten pounds easier to cock. “We can’t wait for shooters, hunters and airgun enthusiasts to get their hands on a Nitro Piston 2-powered Trail from Benjamin,” said Jennifer Lambert, Vice President of Marketing for Crosman. “The ease of use, power and accuracy will change everything you thought you knew about break barrel airguns.” Nitro Piston 2 reinvents the gas piston technology first brought to market by Crosman five years ago. Friction and wasted energy have been minimized with patent-pending Tail Guides and Recoil Arrest, resulting in a system that is the most advanced ever found in a break barrel air rifle. “The new Benjamin Trail rifles drive 30% more air into the chamber, resulting in speeds 55% faster than coiled spring powered airguns and double the effective range of simple gas piston powered guns,” said Jesse Caster, Product Manager. “The CBT is an adjustable two-stage trigger system that pulls smoothly and breaks clean. It’s the best break barrel trigger we’ve ever made.” The new Benjamin Trail rifles are available in .177 and .22 and feature a rifled steel barrel, industry leading sound suppression, sling mounts, integrated Picatinny rail and include a CenterPoint® 3-9×32 mm scope with mounts. The .22 caliber shoots up to 1200 feet per second (fps) with 26 foot pounds of energy (fpe) and is capable for turkeys and fox up to 40 yards. The .22 is available with a hardwood stock or a synthetic stock and has an MSRP of $350. It is also available with a Realtree® Xtra camouflage finish with an MSRP of $380. The .177 caliber has velocities up to an astounding 1400 fps with 21 fpe. It is suitable for target shooting and is effective on rabbits up to 40 yards and squirrels at 60 yards. The .177 is available with a synthetic stock and has an MSRP of $350. It’s too bad it’s not offered in a standard stock. Well, it’s also too bad it’s only available in break barrel. I’ll stick with m TX 200 until Crosman offers something to compete with it. Ryuu May 23, 2014 Any estimates on when the np2 trail xl’s will be out? chunnicutt June 10, 2014 Due to confusion between the Trail and Trail XL models, we have opted not to produce an XL variation. Seth Staples June 6, 2014 i ordered a NP2 today but am thinking about canceling due to reports that the plastic shroud is already cracking. I was already planning on making a replacement for this part on my lathe but am shocked that this gun was considered market ready with such an obvious malfunction. I still want to try the new rifle, but am filling less confident about my purchase. What is your plans to overcome what could be a huge blow to the NP2’s success? chunnicutt June 10, 2014 As with any of our products, our Customer Service team will provide prompt remedies to anyone who believes they may have an issue. THIS WOULD SELL VERY WELL, ONLY THEOBON AND BSA HAVE EVER MADE A GUN LIKE THIS AND THEY ALL WERE TO HEAVEY, YOUR SYNTHETIC STOCK WOULD BE A WINNER. Allen Casals June 25, 2014 I pre-ordered the camo version NP2 w/CBT .22 Cal , sometime ago and I’m looking forward to try it out. My Gamo Whisperer .177 Cal is very accurate but very loud.
