Flowing Wells Sets New Record With Challenger January 13, 2012 Competition Twitter0Facebook0LinkedIn0 We’ve mentioned the Flowing Wells High School JROTC Rifle Team before in this space and they’ve been on a tear as of late: the team scored a scorching 2198 points of a possible 2400, setting a new record Arizona state record during last month’s Southern Arizona Rifle Regionals. Team member Alex Provine set the bar high by shooting a new state record 574. Also on the team are Tyler Rico, Wayne Smith, Paul Hurd and Wyatt Martin. What’s next for Major DeWitt and the Flowing Wells team? Defense of their state championship for starters. The team won the opening rifle match where they faced off against eight of the top twelve teams in the state. The top individual shooter at the Old Pueblo match was Tyler Rico. Flowing Wells High School JROTC have used the Crosman Challenger exclusively and it has helped propel the team to a position among the top four in the country. Crosman would like to take this time to congratulate Tyler Rico for accepting a shooting scholarship to the Air Force Academy and Alex Provine’s acceptance to West Point, also for shooting. One Response Larry D Stafford January 13, 2012 That is so neat for those winners Great Job!
