Packer Receiver Jeff Janis Spends Offseason With Benjamin Marauder July 7, 2015 Crosmaniacs, Featured Twitter0Facebook0LinkedIn50 Jeff Janis, rookie wide receiver and return specialist for the Green Bay Packers, was spending a day at a shooting range this offseason when someone pulled out an air rifle. Intrigued, he asked his agent to reach out to Crosman. “We get contacted from time to time from folks claiming to be with a show or representing someone so I reached out to Jeff through Twitter to find out if this request was legitimate,” said Chip Hunnicutt, Marketing Manager for Crosman. “He’s very active in social media and sure enough, within minutes he responded with an emphatic ‘yes!’ and that he wanted to learn more about PCP guns.” Janis was drafted out of Saginaw Valley State where he finished his college career as the school’s all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. As an avid hunter and outdoorsman, the power and benefits of an airgun appealed to him. “It’s not uncommon these days to see an an air rifle at a shooting range and today’s airguns have the power and accuracy to turn a lot of heads, especially those who grew up with them,” said Hunnicutt. “Advancements have put airguns in a place where going to a range with a nice bench and targets at 50, 75, even 100 yards are within reach.” Janis met with Joe Syring, Crosman’s National Sales Manager, to accept delivery of a new Benjamin Marauder, the Game & Fish/Sportsman Magazine Readers’ Choice winner for Favorite Airgun. Janis learned how to fill the rifle from a high pressure tank, load the magazine and got plenty of trigger time. Janis had time to shoot a few rounds through the new Benjamin Bulldog .357 hunting rifle. His home state of Michigan is the latest to enable hunters to use an airgun in pursuit of whitetail deer.
