JROTC Shooting Teams Win Challenger PCP Rifles April 20, 2010 PCP Challenger, Products Twitter0Facebook0LinkedIn0 Congratulations are due for R-S Central High School and Volcano Vista High School for their outstanding performance a JROTC National Championship-qualifying event that took place at Camp Perry in Ohio in February. R-S Central High School of Rutherfordton, North Carolina won the sporter class team scoring with an aggregate score of 4312. Along with their coach, Major Russell Armentrout, team members include Logan Hartzog, Jessica Eberhart, Steven Murphy and Martina Carson. Of particular note, 17-year old Hartzog broke the USMC JROTC 20 shot kneeling record of 189 with a score of 191. Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Volcano Vista High School was the top finisher among Air Force sporter teams with an aggregate score of 4135. The team of Allen Cohenour, Jacob Harris, Jocelyn Caro and Channda Mitchell are coached by Major Tom Campbell. On his way to being the top finisher for Air Force JROTC, Cohenour beat the Air Force JROTC kneeling record by nine points. Both teams took home a prized Crosman Challenger PCP for their efforts.
