M4-177 Kit (.177/BB) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.Rated 4 out of 5 by mnagnew from Surprising Accuracy I bought the M4-177 Kit, on sale at Amazon for almost $20 less than the gun alone. I wasn't sure about having the rear sight in the carry handle where both windage and elevation are adjusted, but that's the way most buckhorn sights work, so it's not that unusual. Unfortunately, the peep sights on the handle are different lengths, so the smaller diameter sight post is considerably longer than the larger diameter sight post. This means that if you change peep sights by flipping up the alternate sight, you need to completely re-zero the rifle, which also means that you have to determine which sight you are going to use well in advance of when you need it. I also found that the post on the smaller peep site so long that I run out of elevation adjustment before it actually reaches zero. I contacted Crosman and in a week, I had a new handle assembly. Unfortunately, it has the same issue as the original handle, so I figured that must be the way they are manufactured. That being said, I love my M4-177. I find the peep sight considerably more accurate than any buckhorn sight I have used on my other multipump air rifles and the gun itself shows consistent accuracy, shooting dime sized groups at 10 meters once you find its favorite pellet. I returned my 760, which showed marginal 10m accuracy of about 3" with pellets, and bought the M4-177. I was dubious at first, because it's based on the 760, but I am extremely happy with the accuracy and the general build quality of the M4-177. Of course, I read in other reviews that the biggest negative was the strength and integrity of the adjustable stock, so I am careful not to put any undue stress on that part of the gun, holding it by the handle when pumping it. Speaking of pumping, it is very 760-like in the effort required. Up to 5 pumps requires little effort, but from 6-10 pumps, you definitely get a workout. This is my first peep sight air rifle, and if I could afford it, I would put them on my other air rifles instead of scopes. At short range, they are as accurate as a scope and don't seem to lose zero like many of my scopes. The one thing to remember about the sights on the M4-177 is that they are offset considerably from the barrel, so at very close range, they have the same parallax problems as a scope, hitting well below the sighted target. Overall, this is one of my favorite guns to shoot, as long as I don't have to pump it up 10 times for each shot. That does get tiring.Date published: 2018-08-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Drumhd from Wonderful accuracy for fun target shooting! Being an owner of another major brand of air guns as well as Crosman, I’ve been incredibly impressed with the accuracy of this particular model of the m4-177. The kit form of this rifle has a great sight system wth all micro click adjustments made from the rear carry handle sight. Great for even indoor target shooting with the minimum three pumps into a proper pellet trap. Terrific job Crosman!Date published: 2018-03-05Rated 5 out of 5 by Tigg from Happy and good times I got this gun 3 years ago on Christmas Day and I have no clue what it is about this gun but I just enjoy holding and shooting of course my arm gets tired of pumping it but that the fun of it it's a work out it have fun. I wish I could find the other sight so I can li it down for storage other than that it's a great gunDate published: 2018-09-07
