Steel Breech Kit is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 23.Rated 4 out of 5 by CharlieDog from Steel Breech kit Original was ordered on 7/1/2017. By 7/6/2017 I had not received confirmation of order or any other communication. I sent an email canceling the order and placed another order which I received instant confirmation and the order was received about five days later. I installed the breech and was very pleased with it. On 7/20/2017 I received the original order with paperwork saying it had been canceled. Email to Crosman has gone unanswered. The order is being returned.Date published: 2017-07-23Rated 5 out of 5 by proimage1 from Great ugrade Received the steel breech and have it installed - it's a great upgrade ! The only small problem was the instructions that were sent - evidently it's a copy of a copy of a copy - not only was it very light and hardly legible but the instructions were very very small print ! I found several links on utube that made the install very easy ! That being said - I'm extremely happy - this was an upgrade for my 1377 - I'll be ordering another one for my 2240 !Date published: 2017-09-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Airguy from High quality at a bargain price I own many air guns old and new some expensive but the 1377 is my go to for great shooting Problem was I could not see the sights any more. The steel breech and red dot took care of the problem.Very easy install and improved the already good acuracy.Should have done this long ago.Crosman is a great company that still sells parts to people who enjoy tinkering as part of the hobby ThanksDate published: 2019-02-28Rated 4 out of 5 by Phil1977 from Good quality I am really pleased how the steel breech has transformed the gun. I mounted a red dot and added a stock and my accuracy has improved tremendously. Would give 5 stars but the breech bolt handle had the wrong thread and I couldn’t install it and ended up stripping the thread. I called Crosman and they sent out s new handle free of charge and it worked fine. Good customer service.Date published: 2018-12-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Oger from Great upgrade! I ordered this steel breech and LPA rear sight for my 1377 from Crosman. I received it in good condition about 5 working days after I ordered it which I thought was timely delivery. It installed fast and easy and improves the look and function of the gun. I had no problem with the plastic breech but wanted the upgrade with option of optics. Iron sights work for me with the pistol configuration 1377 but with the shoulder stock the rear sight too close and blurry for my eyes. I like the LPA sight but the fit in the slot is very loose before using set screws to tighten it up. Some minor tinkering will easily correct this as well as shooting a tad high with elevation adjustment all the way down. I would recommend this quality steel breech to anyone considering this upgrade. It makes an already nice gun much better. I will be ordering another steel breech for one of my other 1377s as soon as they come back in stock.Date published: 2018-04-22Rated 2 out of 5 by big wally from Needs Improvement Well I have already e-mailed customer service regarding my little gripe I have about the steel breech and I know you will not "approve" of this review for publication in your review section in your product catalog but I thought maybe my complaint would get read by someone at Crosman with the power to perhaps suggest an improvement to the right people there with the said issue I have with these breeches. I bought the steel breech for a Crosman 1377 I bought at Wal-Mart last summer. I already own a Crosman 1300KT in .22 cal with a steel breech of course so I know they work well. My issue is that the breech for the .177 is the same as the .22 cal. breech and that causes minor but annoying loading issues. The pellet channel on both breeches is the same size which is fine for the.22 cal. but not so much for the .177 cal. pellets as there is way too much room for the pellet to get cockeyed in the channel or even totally sideways. Also with the larger diameter pellet channel more suited for the .22 cal... the .177 cal. pellets sit too low in said channel and when the probe picks up the pellet it actually lifts the back of the pellet up obviously causing the nose of the pellet to point downward making in catch on the anchoring screw hole more often than not causing the pellet to stop the probe from pushing the pellet into then chamber. The pellet channel should be more relative to the diameter of a .177 cal. pellet for the pellet to chamber smoothly....common sense. I am no complaining about the workmanship of the breeches....I have worked in a machine shop for 46 years so i know quality when I see it. But for some reason Crosman chose to "cheap out on the >177 cal. steel breech and that in my eyes is kind of disappointing as I am a multi-Crosman exclusive owner and that reason being the machine shop I work in has made parts for the higher end Crosman airguns so I know the quality that goes into Crosman products first hand. I guess it doesn't really matter if you choose to improve and make right the .177 breeches as I have bought all I will ever buy and it seems no one else is complaining I guess. But you asked for a review and I gave you one. thank you for your time Crosman.Date published: 2018-10-26Rated 4 out of 5 by James12 from Solid construction Works great with crosman target finder scope, I only wish crosman would make a rear iron sight to fit this breech. Sometimes I like to shoot open sights, and have to reinstall the original plastic breech. It would be a 5 star for sure if they made this possible. I know there, are after market sights I can use, but are extremely expensive.Date published: 2017-10-26Rated 5 out of 5 by jfitz from Nice Kit - Good Upgrade This kit is awesome. It gives my 1377 a more substantial feel and I really like that pistol. I mounted a red dot sight & it is amazingly accurate at 50-60 feet. My only niggle is that the bolt fell off often, but it wasn't anything a little Locktite couldn't fix. I certainly would have paid the extra $ to have it installed stock.Date published: 2018-06-21
