Tyro is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is one nasty crossbow. I just bought this after using a Barnett Wildcat C5. The main reason was the weight and top heaviness of the c5. The assembly was easy and what you get for the price is a great deal. On the down side the Arrow/bolts that came with it are pretty much junk. I went out and bought decimator arrows and at twenty yards I can group the arrows in an inch circle or so. Close enough that three arrows will be touching and at thirty yards I can put them in a two inch group. I am using it today for the first time for deer hunting. I will let you know how it works. If you are thinking about getting this go for it. Just pick up some better arrows. I also used 20” arrows instead of the 16” that came with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from seems like a great bow!....for the money I bought a different brand-$550 crossbow in June, after @ 20 shots, it hung up, wouldn't fire. Sent back 2x to manufacturer, waited over a month. Seems fixed but don't know if can trust it! Saw this little bow @Wal Mart, $150, bought it for a backup. Pleasantly surprised! No, it is not a high end bow BUT.. shoots well, quite accurate to 30 yards ( I won't shoot at an animal past that range) replaced the cheap aluminum bolts with Carbon- had to buy 20" instead of 16", they seem a little long but fly very well(2 in group @ 30 yd.with BH). Is very light, compact, great to carry! I had to replace the string after @ 20 shots, bought a better 26 1/2 in string- was able change it myself with included stringer in 3 min!!!..HUGE plus! Like the safety and fact it cannot be taken off without an arrow in, works like an anti dry fire. Also you can easily uncock using the method touted by other recurve bow company with the rope cocking devise....another HUGE plus. Plan to hunt with this bow and use the compound crossbow for backup! Seems a great little bow for the $$!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hmmmmm......still wondering. Bought this crossbow yesterday for my sons to share and hunt with. Crossbow was easy to put together but instructions missing some crucial information. I.e. how tight to make the set screw for the limb, how many twists to give the string before install, etc. I know it is a beginner bow but these are important bits of information for longevity, maintenance, accuracy and safety. The base for the scope is set all the way down from the factory, as it is adjustable up and down (who knows how many MOA as this information is also NOT INCLUDED) which is fine but a set screw has to lock it down...which is covered by your scope and cannot be touched with a scope in place. Without the set screw down, the base has a lot of play and i wouldnt trust it to old a zero. With factory setting all the way down and locked in with the set screw i had to bring the supplied scope up very high to sight in just at 10 yards. Movng out to 20 yards, which in normal archery should not be much different in point of impact, the bolts were about 5 inches off. At this point i had only taken 10 shots from the crossbow and sent my son for a screwdriver and hex wrenches to remove the scope so i could bring the scope base up, since remember the scope base is set all the way down from the factory. While waiting on my son i was examining the crossbow and noticed that after 10 shots I HAVE A SPLIT LIMB!!!! 10 SHOTS FOLKS!!! The lim has split on both sides of the main body of the crossbow where the limb is held in place. Now, i have to call crossman to claim this thing under warranty after only 10 shots. My sons are disappointed because they likely wont get to take a shot this weekend and im certain crossman will not get a new limb to me within a couple of days. I had high hopes for this crossbow. I was a fan of PSE until my crossbow split a limb. I went out and bought a CenterPoint Sniper 370 and have loved it up until now, my 2nd season. So i thought this would be a great crossbow for my boys. I understand manufacturing of any kind has its blips. The sniper 370 changed my mind on brand, but the Tyro is almost ready to make me change my mind again. Heres hoping that CenterPoint makes this right, and my boys will be prepared for the hunt next weekend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First crossbow Bought this bow for my wife. It is to much for her to cock, tried a Allen brand crank cocker, it broke 2nd time. Went to town to try to find another crank, saw they had the Tyro crossbow bout $50 cheaper than the first one I bought. So now I have 2 of them. Still looking for a crank, or maybe a set of weights for the wife. I saw on other reveiw # to call about spare string, will call. How would I put it on?? T
