Description
The Crosman Tyro .177 Youth Break Barrel Air Rifle is designed to make the first steps into shooting sports safe, comfortable, and enjoyable. Purpose-built for younger and smaller shooters, the Tyro combines manageable power with features that grow alongside the shooter’s skills and size.
This spring-powered air rifle uses a break barrel action that requires only 22 pounds of cocking effort, helping new shooters learn proper technique without excessive strain. The Tyro fires .177 caliber pellets, offering predictable performance that’s well suited for backyard practice and fundamentals training.
A standout feature is the grow-with-me stock system, which includes removable spacers to adjust length of pull as the shooter grows. The all-weather, ambidextrous synthetic stock is lightweight, durable, and comfortable to shoulder, while the overmolded, corrosion-resistant rifled steel barrel supports consistent accuracy over time.
For aiming, the Tyro is equipped with a fiber-optic front sight and an adjustable rear sight, making target acquisition easier in a variety of lighting conditions. Thoughtfully sized and easy to operate, this air rifle helps build confidence, reinforce safe handling habits, and keep the focus on fun and learning.

This is my first break barrel air rifle. I have 4 multi pumps and read that springers take some getting used to. Indeed they do. It’s got a little kick to it almost like a .22. It’s very solid and has some power. Just my size as I’m a small adult. I added a 4×32 scope. And after some practice I was placing shots within a 1 inch dot at 30 ft. Very satisfied.

A Springer is a big step up from multi pump air rifles. Has a kick like a Rim fire .22. Put 4×32 scope on. Took a lot of practice to hit on target. No doubt it has power for little Springer. Good out to 30 yards. Would recommend to a friend.

One inch groups at 15 yards with open sights. Good for small pests up close. Cocking is easy, trigger is hard. It needs a better cheek rest for scopes. Pretty low in noise and likes the 7.4 grain pointed or destroyers.
