Crosman Introduces First Modern Sporting Rifle-Styled Break Barrels

ROCHESTER, New York, (January 15, 2013) –Crosman Corporation, long known for innovation and quality in the shooting sports, has introduced two new MTR77  NP break barrel air rifles powered by Nitro Piston® technology.  These .177 caliber break barrels are the first from Crosman® to be modeled after the modern sporting rifle style.

According to Crosman Product Manager, John Alvord, “The MTR77 NP air rifle design evolved from the Vietnam-era service rifles that continue as a staple of the U.S. armed forces. Offering up to 1200 fps muzzle velocity, the MTR77 NP is at the leading edge of honing your skills as a marksman,” he said.  “Not only is this air rifle great for target shooters, but with up to 18 foot pounds of energy, hunters will enjoy its quiet power, accuracy and authenticity,” says Alvord.

Featuring Crosman Nitro Piston technology, shooters enjoy 70% less noise than with other break barrels, in addition to smoother cocking force, quicker locking time and much less recoil.  The removable false magazine includes a convenient, built-in storage area for ammo.  These single shot air rifles weigh in at less than 7 pounds, have rifled steel barrels, two-stage adjustable triggers and sling mounts for easy carrying. The carry handle version incorporates a rear sight and includes an elevation adjustable pin sight.  The scoped version features a 4x32mm CenterPoint riflescope.

The MTR77 NP has an MSRP of $300 with optics and $275 with carry handle.  They will be available at retail in June, 2013.
