It’s a very powerful gun, but it is not as accurate as expected.
The quality of the gun is quite good but the scope isn’t very good.
I like the shape of the gun but it’s heavy and therefore it’s a challenge to keep it steady when you are standing.

Superb plinking or short range varmit gun. Unfortunately the Centepoint kit scope included seems to be a piece of junk. First year fine, a couple of months into year two it began to lose zero and shoot all over the target. Adjustments would range from a 1/4 inch per click (normal) to 3-4 inches per click. Trying now to get ahold of customer service but alas it seems to be a piece of chineese junk. Rifle – 5 stars spot on included scope zero stars if it goes that low.

To the author of the last review…. why in the hell are you trying to be accurate standing up? I‚Äôd like to see you shoot and you obviously probably can not. This is an amazing little pellet rifle and my favorite one I have ever owned. Dead accurate, fast, and can accomplish and small game task you put it with. Brought down a few turkeys for me. If you don‚Äôt know how to shoot well I wouldn‚Äôt expect you to hit a house from 10 yards away. But for people that enjoy any type of firearm or shooting device, man this is a great little gun.

I have owned this for several years, now. I love it. Wonderful fun for plinking and hunting. For hunting it is long but the shoulder strap is padded. I have taken squirrels (up to 50 yards) and raccoon ( up to 30-40 yards). 2" groups from a rest at 40 to 50 yards. 60 yards is still possible but you have to play the drop. 70 yards has around 7" drop shooting Daisy .22 pellets but any breeze and it’s off. I use Destroyer pellets for hunting and a variety for plinking

Ive had mine about two years . It takes about 200 shots before really accurate. Shoots H & N 19.91 grain and 22 grain pellets really accurate. I like the scope that came with it also. Trigger could be Mo Better . My Beeman RS2 still is the best trigger on an air rifle. This Benjamin is Heavy . Nice quality . I like it .

Bought it for my daughter last Christmas and she has put more than enough food on her table to buy another one with the savings in groceries. At 40 yards she can drop a jackrabbit in his tracks. This rifle hits where she aims every time and at 40-50 yards it hasn’t been picky about pellets, either. Crosman Piranhas have been extremely effective in it. Long after I’m gone she’ll be using that rifle for hunting and plinking and thinking of her Dad. That’s worth 1000x times the minimal cost of this rifle. Thanks, Crosman. You made a real winner and a couple lifetime fans with this one.

Great right out of the box! Replaced scope with Bushnell 3X9X50 Dawn to Dusk and use Crosman Piranha .22 pellets. devastating. accurate and quiet!

I am very happy with my Benjamin Trail, especially as it was given to me to replace a different Crosman model I was totally dissatisfied with. I did put a slightly better scope on the Trail because I came upon an incredible sale in the company store. Now it is so accurate I could shoot chipmunks in the eyes if I chose to. Although it is a .177, it will zip a pellet through a woodchuck’s head at 50 yards with no trouble at all. Very humane for the ‘chuck, and beneficial to my garden! My thanks again to Crosman’s Customer Service!

Ignore any bad ratings you’ve read. It’s very accurate. A groundhog had been digging holes everywhere in my field. I shot it in the eye, right where I put the crosshairs, at 65 yards. At 40 yards, it shoots through a 1" deck board and the steel barrel it leans against. Also, like any piston type break barrel, the more you shoot it, the more quiet it gets. It’s heavy, and hard to cock. You might want the Benjamin Prowler, it’s a lot easier to cock and also a very good gun. Mine’s fed me many times.

I have owned my .177 caliber Trail for a few years now, and like most air rifles, the accuracy tends to increase as the barrel is used more and the best pellets for the rifle are found. As I said on my original review, I was able to purchase a better Center Point Scope made by Crosman which has more features which allows me to shoot farther and with more accuracy than with the original Center Point scope. I also discovered this rifle prefers heavier pellets for maximum accuracy and knockdown power. I picked up a Benjamin sling to make the rifle easier to carry while hunting. I own a great number of pellet rifles of many manufacturers, but I find this American assembled Crosman Trail to one of my most accurate and enjoyable. Aside from being accurate and powerful, it is extremely quiet-nearly silent! I find the impact of the pellet hitting the target to be louder than the firing of the rifle. Very neighbor-friendly!
